How do I add a watermark to a photo?

Tap the Process tab (wand icon) and tap to choose a photo from your library.

Review the EXIF data Mimas reads automatically (camera, lens, settings).

Fill in any missing fields or apply a saved Device Template.

Choose a border style (White Border / Black Bar / None) and preview the result.

Tap Export — the watermarked photo is saved to the "Mimas" album in your library.
What is a Device Template?

A Device Template saves your camera's brand, model, lens, and default shooting parameters. When you import a photo that's missing EXIF data (e.g., from a film scan or older camera), Mimas can auto-fill those details from your template.

Where are my exported photos saved?

All watermarked photos are saved to a dedicated "Mimas" album in your iOS Photos library. Mimas never modifies or deletes your originals — it always creates a new copy.

The in-app Library tab also keeps a record of your exports for easy re-editing or sharing.

What's included in Mimas Pro?

How does the 7-day trial work?

From the first time you open Mimas, you have 7 days of full Pro access — no Apple ID required, no credit card, no commitment. After 7 days, Pro features require a one-time purchase of $2.99.

The trial countdown is shown in the Process tab and in About → Subscription.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Open Mimas → tap the icon → Restore Purchases.

Pro features will unlock within a few seconds.
Can I use Mimas Pro on iPad and iPhone?

Yes. Mimas Pro is shared across all devices signed in with the same Apple ID via Apple's Family Sharing and non-consumable purchase system. Buy once, use on all your devices.

Mimas can't read EXIF from my photo

Some photos don't contain EXIF data — this is common with:

  • Screenshots
  • Photos shared via messaging apps (which strip metadata)
  • Scanned film photos from a flatbed scanner
  • Photos from certain social media platforms

In this case, Mimas will show ⚠️ on fields it couldn't read. You can fill in the data manually, or apply a Device Template to pre-fill all fields at once.

Export says "Failed" — how do I fix it?

This is usually a Photos library permission issue. To fix:

Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Find Mimas and make sure it's set to "Full Access" (not "Limited" or "None").

Return to Mimas and try exporting again.
EXIF write-back isn't working

EXIF write-back requires Full Access to your Photos library (not Limited Access). It also requires Mimas Pro (or an active trial).

The write-back creates a new copy of your photo with the EXIF data embedded in the file — it does not modify the original. After write-back, Mimas will ask if you want to delete the original.

Note: EXIF write-back is only available for photos selected via the single-photo picker (not batch mode), as it requires a direct reference to the original Photos library asset.

Will Mimas work without an internet connection?

Yes, fully. Mimas processes everything on-device and works completely offline. The only time internet is used is during in-app purchase verification, which is handled by Apple.

什么是设备模板?

设备模板保存您的相机品牌、型号、镜头及默认拍摄参数。当您导入缺少 EXIF 数据的照片(如胶片扫描或老相机拍摄的照片)时,Mimas 可以从模板自动填充这些信息。

导出的照片保存在哪里?

Mimas 读不出照片的 EXIF 信息

部分照片不包含 EXIF 数据,常见情况:

  • 截图
  • 经微信、微博等社交平台传输(会清除元数据)
  • 平板扫描仪扫描的胶片照片

此时,Mimas 会在无法读取的字段上显示 ⚠️。您可以手动填写,或应用设备模板一键填充所有字段。

导出失败怎么办?

通常是相册权限问题,解决步骤:

打开 设置 → 隐私与安全 → 照片

找到 Mimas,确保权限设置为「完全访问」而非「选择照片」或「无」。

返回 Mimas 重试导出。
EXIF 回写后的照片没有 EXIF 信息

EXIF 回写需要 「完全访问」相册权限(不能是「选择照片」),以及 Mimas Pro 权限(试用期内或已购买)。

回写会创建一个嵌入了 EXIF 数据的新副本,不修改原始照片。回写完成后 Mimas 会询问是否删除原图。

注意:EXIF 回写仅支持通过单张照片选择器导入的照片(不支持批量模式),因为需要直接引用相册中的原始资源。

Mimas 需要网络连接吗?

不需要。Mimas 完全离线运行,所有处理均在本地完成。唯一使用网络的场景是内购验证,由 Apple 处理。
